Technology has advanced over the years, and as I sit here and prepare my mind for the week to come, knowing that I will face different challenges. I wonder how will I complete each task this week? Let’s go back ten years ago. I was a struggling business trying to keep my head above the water. I also depended on external hard drives and thumb drives to access my information from anywhere. There is a new technology today called the cloud. The information can be accessed from my phone or anywhere I can get online. Information can be accessed in seconds on the fly. If I wanted to check my email ten years ago I would get on a computer and check my email. Today I can check my email anywhere I can get a cellular tower. Viruses are more common and the internet is filled with junk that can slow your computer down. Ten years ago viruses were harder to find and get rid of. There is a lot of third party software now that can help someone remove viruses, but you also have to be careful what you find and from what source is giving you the download. Today we rely on the internet for information pertaining to our daily life. Ten years ago we would use the internet less because we were still binned to a technology that tied us back to a wired computer.
Technology has been adopted into our home. Netflix, Smart TV, TiVo, Internet, Smart Phones are ways to keep us connected. Are we really connected? Ten Years ago my company offered computer repair services. Today we offer many more services to a wide range of people. Ten Years ago we covered thirty to sixty mile radius. Today we offer services nationwide and thanks to technology we can offer services to multiple languages.
Ten Years ago we depended on paper and ink to send invoices, and today we send our invoices digitally, and we can get paid much faster over secure digital services. Ten Years ago we had to depend on people that work directly for company to work on huge projects. Today we can hire contractors and select from a network of technicians for each skillset for any project.
Technology has advanced my company. We can offer remote support, and research information on any products. We can read technician forums to learn about problems. We can join groups to find out about issues that are out there to assist our customers.
Ten Years ago we would have to stock parts because customers did not want to have to wait on parts. Thanks to companies like Amazon Prime Today we can get most of our parts in two days. We can even over overnight shipping to many locations for an extra cost.
Ten years ago my operating cost was through the roof. Today I can run a business that has limited cost to maintain. Ten Years ago my store front was the way to attract my customers, and today my website is the way to attract customers. Facebook plays a huge role in communication and advertising for my business.
Ten Years ago talking on my phone was a way to get prices and rates out to customers. Today email and texting is the way of doing business. We offer a wide range of services. We offer computer repair, cell phone repair, tablet repair, website design, digital marketing. We have even moved into the broken screen replacements on a huge range of devices. Our website has more information on the services that are offered.
